M-Base reoladed! I really like the mixture of demanding rhythms and melodies with a very light, dancing and sophisticated touch. Really happening music! I discovered this record via Roman Filiu, who is kind of the "father" of the contemporary Jazz-Scene coming out of Havanna. Great player, as you also can hear on this record.

Probably my favorite jazz pianist in the game right now. I became obsessed with Sam’s playing through his work with Ambrose Akinmusire, especially on Rift in Decorum, their live record from The Village Vanguard. I’ve been listening to Sam’s other solo album, Interludes, on repeat and it’s a gem. Thankful to finally find HARMONY on Bandcamp and to dive in. The compositions are beautiful, soulful, and idiosyncratic. My hat’s off.

This was not what I expected! I thought this was a pop group (first time hearing this band) but I had to eat my hat because this band defies genre. The vocalist reminds me a little of kpop (and maybe 2010 Sleigh Bells if that makes sense), I happen to like both so thought that was cool. If you are a fan of complex piano layers and brass check this out! Also, the bassist and drummer are insane in here. I choked hearing one of the riffs it was that good!
